A visit after a long time.

Its been quite some time since I have written. Actually was kind of busy with life as well as didnt find something worthwhile to write.

It’s Christmas!! But its not as cold as I expected in Bangalore :-( . Actually people say its very pleasant. But who likes winters without teeth shattering cold? I had some plans about going to Ooty. But somehow could not make everything fall in place.  Busy with work, after that visit to Calcutta. Lots of stuff to do.

By the way, finally I decided and convinced my dad (I still doubt it though) to let me buy a Canon EOS 40D. however there are bigger probems to cope with now. The Financial year is coming to an end and need to clear up the taxes. Like other bachelors, I am also running a bit short on cash :-D . I really doubt if the camera thingy is going to happen in the next 3 months.

Love or Infatuation?

What is the difference between love and infatuation?

People have to say that infatuation is something which does not stay. But can Infatuation be transformed into love? If yes, then when? where?? how??? The most important question, How do you know this is love and not infatuation?

Lets take an example, a girl newly joins your office. You simply can’t take your eyes off her. Now people would really say. “Come on buddy! There is nothing called love at first site”. You are into an infatuation, colloquially termed as crush.

Accepted, its indeed a crush. Then why do you feel that it would be nice if she speaks to you? Why do you feel that she is the only one in the world with whom you can spend all your life, okay…. atleast temporarily you feel the same?

THE QUESTION: HOW DO YOU KNOW THIS IS NOT LOVE?

Speaking on the contrary, as per the Indian customs, in most cases the parents choose the life partner for their children. And in many cases the two individuals getting married didn’t even know each other. In that case, how can someone ensure that they will fall in love once they are married?

Rants??!!

Now this is a topic which has been discussed many many times over different public lists. The question is that, when the list is claimed as public, what kind of freedom do you get? Is it right to go for personal attacks?

Unfortunately there are quite a few people who do exactly the same. It is nice to have different opinion.  But it is not at all nice if you start imposing your ideas on others.

Air Deccan – a sure shot screwup

Monday started with a call from my sister informing me that Air Deccan is advertising, selling tickets @ Rs. 500. I was anyway planning to go to Calcutta on 26th on my brother’s wedding and this served to be an added boon. I immediately logged into their webpage (which again opens only and only in Internet Explorer, poor souls like me who use FreeBSD :-( ) and found out there there is a small “*Conditions Apply” next to the advertisement.

On calling up their customer care, they said that the tickets only for ATR sectors (I am not sure what it means but most likely, its a fancy term for sectors in which only the deadly Dacota aircrafts fly, and yes they are still in use although being 30 yrs old technology ).

Thats further strengthens my vow. NEVER EVER FLY IN AIR DECCAN.
